Donkey Statue at Sälzerplatz

Highlight • Monument

Here at Sälzerplatz stands this bronze sculpture, which shows a donkey transporting sacks of salt.
Here in Bad Sassendorf, donkeys were also used as pack animals before they were replaced by motorized technology.

Highlight • Monument

It looks like a large birdbath. Ten pigeons have settled on top to refresh themselves with the cool water. The fountain is framed in the green sandstone from Anröchte, which is typical of the area.
