Grand Union Canal

Highlight • Cycleway

Towpath is always good for easy flat riding, just keep the speed down. Just remember most boats on the towpath are live aboard, like me with kids and dogs that play by there boats on the towpath. Be kind and respectful.

Circle of Hearts Medicine Wheel

Highlight • Monument

This is an exciting structure that represents North American Indian Medicine Wheels, whilst also paying homage to British traditions of building circles alongside meeting places and important sites.

The structure was built by the people of Milton Keynes to welcome in the Millennium and offers a peaceful place for those of any religion or spirituality to enjoy.

Willen Lake North

Highlight • Viewpoint

This is a stunning vantage point to look out at the tranquility and beauty of Willen Lake. A super place to come to blow off some cobwebs.

Within a stone's throw of the new builds on the outskirts of Milton Keynes, the rich Victorian stained glass of St Lawrence sheds light on one of the greatest medieval treasures in the area - a series of stunning medieval wall paintings. These exquisitely detailed pictures remained hidden behind plaster for 300 years before being rediscovered during a restoration in 1849.

The paintings include the Virgin Mary cradling the body of Christ (a Pieta) and St George killing the dragon, despite having lost his head when the ceiling was restored in the fifteenth century as well as a Doom, St Helena and St Eligius and one of only two surviving Warning to Swearers in the country. There are also some interesting memorials.
