Kreuzberg Cross

Highlight • Other

“Each of these crosses can tell its own story and what motivated people to erect“ their ”cross at this point. (...) These crossroads were erected as visible signs and attract the eyes of many people. The cross is a symbol of life. It stands as a sign of our Christian hope and wants to direct our gaze to Jesus Christ, who overcame death (...). The cross is part of our life, just as it was part of the life of Jesus. So I wish that many people ... visit the crossroads, whether as places of silence and breathing before God, whether as places of congregation meeting, prayer and praise of God. "

Lynx Rock

Highlight • Natural Monument

Beautiful sandstone rock with some large and small (peephole) holes.
The west side offered me on my tour protection from 2 thunderstorms directly above me ;-)

Some seating options invite you to rest. The hiking trail in the direction of Rösselsweiher and Rösselsquelle passes this idyllically situated pond.

Rössels Pond

Highlight • Lake

The Rösselsweiher is located in the "Rohrweiler-Rösselsweiher" nature reserve, which contains various silted-up and raised bog biotopes.

This NSG is approximately 39 hectares.

What I liked best was that the ducks completely ignored me. So I was able to enjoy the meal I had brought with me undisturbed - that is not something that can be taken for granted.

Rössels Spring

Highlight • Natural Monument

Hidden source, which gives the hiker a little cooling almost at the end of the Rumberg-Steig tour when the outside temperatures are high.

Horses were probably kept nearby in the past, which may have led to the name of the spring.

The spring feeds both the nearby Rösselsweiher and the Sägmühlweiher in Ludwigswinkel.

March 20, 2022,⭐️ Ludwigswinkel - Château de Lutzelhardt - Etang de Welschkobert - La Bremendell
Today a tour of the stars was on the program again; namely to the Lützelhardt castle ruins from the 13th century.
Unfortunately, we were not able to explore the ruins or the lynx rock because both rocks are closed until the end of May or the end of July due to breeding birds. Too bad... 😥
But a reason to …

Nice round from Ludwigswinkel to the ruins of Luetzelhardt in Alsace. Return via Ochsenhardt, Welschkobert and Bremendell ponds.
