Bitton Station, Avon Valley Railway

Highlight • Rest Area

The old railway, which still has some use, widens at this point. Several trains and carriages can be seen parked up. It is part of the Bristol & Bath railway line

Stone Sculptures on the Cycleway

Highlight • Monument

This is a brilliant sculpture to look at, large in size located along the main cycleway. As you approach the sculpture it is not clear what it actually is. You have to stop to work out what it is, especially if you are not from the local area

Warmley Waiting Room Cafe

Highlight • Rest Area

Perhaps the quaintest little coffee stop in the whole of England. This sweet little cafe is placed inside an old railway station along the Bristol & Bath Railway path. There is plenty of outdoor seating and places to rest your bikes. They also make a mean bacon butty and have a ice-cream truck in summer.

Old Mangotsfield Station Walls

Highlight • Monument

This is an interesting location around the Old Mangotsfield Station. There are two big walls adjacent to each other that are free standing, these look like listed buildings. The cycleway around this area is good

St George's Park

Highlight • Rest Area

St George’s Park is a large Victorian suburban park with a pond, grass areas, large wheels park and a children’s playground. The playground has a large bespoke lizard head structure with tunnel slides and timber climbing ‘ribs’, swings, a seesaw and a toddler sand pit with mini slide.

Railway Tunnel

Highlight • Rest Area

This railway tunnel is quite long. There are roof lights in the tunnel and it is easy to see where you are. Some water does drip down from the roof but it is easy to pick a dry ride line and pass through the tunnel. People are also walking through the tunnel as well as cyclists

Bristol and Bath Railway Path

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The perfect route to go traffic-free from Bath to Bristol. It follows the route of the former Midland Railway, which was established in the mid-19th century to connect the two cities.
