Pont Pill Tidal Creek

Highlight • Historical Site

Pont Pill is a tidal creek off the Rivery Fowey. Some say it was the inspiration for Kenneth Grahame's 'Wind in the Willows'

It is a secluded, untouched area of Cornwall and is the perfect place to escape and connect with nature.

There is an old port here dating from the 18th century. Now owned by the National Trust, some of the buildings are available to rent as holiday accommodation.

Although the quay can only be reached at high tide, it was a key place for exporting logs and grain and importing lime, coal, bricks and flour.

Lantic Bay

Highlight • Beach

Beautiful beach. The Daphne Du Maurer trail passes by the beach above the coast. If you have swimming gear with you, you can plunge into the turquoise-blue water. The steep path to and especially from the beach is a bit difficult. Too much swimming / bathing equipment is therefore not recommended.

View of Lantic Bay

Highlight • Natural Monument

If you are looking for that hidden, idyllic, beautiful bay, then this is the place. Lantic Bay, which is owned by the National Trust, is just a classic hidden gem tucked away between Fowey and Poplerro. It has a large bay with turquoise water and golden sands; simply a stunning place. It is not easy to get to its gorgeous beach though, it will take you about twenty minutes to reach the beach by a footpath from the National Trust car park east of Polruan.
