Faux d'Enson Observation Tower

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Faux d'Enson observation tower is a 9 meter high concrete tower with metal stairs, built in 1989 by the Jura section of the Swiss Alpine Club. It is located at an altitude of 927 meters, at the summit of the Faux d'Enson mountain, which is part of the Mont-Terri range. From the tower, you enjoy a breathtaking view of the whole of Ajoie, as well as the border between France and Switzerland, marked by stone pillars. On a clear day, you can also see the Pays de Montbéliard, the Bernese Alps, the Vosges and the Black Forest. At the top of the tower, an orientation table allows you to identify landmarks on the horizon.

This route is number 707 in the suissemobile app. It is a nice varied circuit and not difficult at all. It has the virtue of taking us through rural roads and forests that make us feel good in the middle of nature. The town of Porrentrui is worth a visit.

On the occasion of my birthday today I did a special MTB in the canton of Jura in the footsteps of the dinosaurs.

The starting point is Porrentruy sounds like a county in England but is located in the canton of Jura with the imposing castle that also serves as a prison. At Touri Info you can get a secret …

Generally a smooth tour. A bunch of flows. Steep climb to Col de St. Croix. Wonderful views. I was pleased to ride on a warm March day with up to 15 C. Will be back soon.
