The Bisse Vieux was first documented in 1658, but it is thought to be much older. Originally, the bisse consisted mainly of wooden channels; today, in some places, there are also stone channels and metal tubs to prevent water loss. Thanks to intensive maintenance, this old bisse still carries water today and, for example, provides irrigation for the apricot trees in Fey.
