Ramsach Chapel (Ähndl)

Highlight • Religious Site

Information board of the meditation path:
"The Ramsachkircherl, affectionately called 'Ähndl' in the vernacular, is said to be the oldest church in Upper Bavaria, probably founded in the 7th century by St. Mang.
Christianization began in southern Bavaria as early as the 3rd and 4th centuries through preaching wandering monks. The first hermitages arose, later churches and monasteries were founded. According to ancient traditions, there is said to have been a Celtic cult here when an Irish-Scottish wandering monk settled down. It was said earlier that the old altar stone and three stone steps should still come from this time. An ossuary used to belong to the churchyard, which is enclosed with a wall. In 1634, when the plague raged in Murnau, many dead were carried here for burial. "

Murnauer Moos Nature Reserve

Highlight • Natural Monument

Such a great moor in front of an enchanting mountain backdrop with beautiful wooden plank hiking trails surrounded by flowers is a must-hike. My tip: Kneel down on the wooden planks in the moor and look for the carnivorous sun dew plants. It is worth it! But be careful: snappy plant :-)

Pure nature! On wooden planks you can hike through the natural moor landscape with heather and sparse birch and pine stands and enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. Halfway there is an open wooden hut, which also invites you to take a break - guest book available.

A large part of the circular hiking trail is not in the shade, so be sure to bring sun protection and drinks with you. Sturdy shoes are advisable! Great trail with lots of nature (plants, animals and insects) and a great mountain backdrop.

After the strenuous snow tour yesterday, we chose something easier today so we could enjoy the sun and the good weather. The tour was relaxed in terms of the altitude, but this did not affect the beauty of the area and the tour. The long boardwalk was particularly impressive, but so was the view of the green area and the …

Approx. 12 km circular route in the Murnauer Moos and Moor via the Bohlenweg, with a beautiful view of the Alps, bright sunshine 😎🌞, partly through the barren moorland reminiscent of a steppe, mostly flat, only a little steeper at the end of a mountain and a few steps up.
Suitable for prams, bicycles (must be pushed on the boardwalk) …

Finally bright sunshine again and for us the best October hiking weather. 😎🍁🐮

We had planned the hike through the Murnauer Moos for a long time and it was really worth it.
We particularly liked the magnificent mountain view and the long boardwalk through the middle of the moor.

This is the classic route through the Murnauer Moos. A simple, uncomplicated and very beautiful route that I have done many times. First you walk for a long time along a stream and through large wet meadows that are very valuable for nature. Then you go briefly into a forest, over a footbridge through the actual moor and through a …

The tour, which is well worth seeing, begins at the car park in front of the Ramsach church, where there is also a small beer garden. First, the route heads southwest along the Ramsach on a wide farm track that is exposed to the sun. The highlight is the boardwalk in the western part of the circular route, which leads …

Easy hike through the Murnauer Moos.

You should be at the parking lot in good time in the morning - the number of spaces is very limited.

The first few kilometers of the hike lead to the west near the railway line. It often goes through patches of forest and you regularly have great views over the moorland and into …
