This year, with glorious hiking weather 🌤, I set out to circumnavigate Lake Waginger 🌊.

I started in Fisching and then continued clockwise.

The lake and the region are beautiful – the only downside is that the cycling/hiking path takes you quite far from the water.

No matter what, it was still lovely... 😍🌊⛵️🌤

You can do it, but you don't have to. I swear it wasn't the weather's fault, even though it was pouring 🪣... you could say it's a loop on the bike path. 80% of the way here is on asphalt. Every now and then you pass through one of these cute villages that still …

Good time and no climb. But almost only on the road. Done, period, over.

Quite ok for hiking. Unfortunately, one is very rarely at the lake and, above all, it is more of a cycle path (very many cyclists).
If you like asphalt and don't shy away from the sun, this is the place for you. We found it harder than usual.

Finally made it to the 10 largest lakes in Bavaria! Hiked, marched and ran a little (hills) over 300 km, total time: not that great (lots of breaks, swimming and eating too much). I think I passed the challenge. Now I'm going to complete the 25 lakes in Bavaria, I'm still missing 2/3 lakes! Tachinger See, possibly Königssee, Lechstufe 6 …

The plan was to jump into the cool water every now and then during the tour.....unfortunately that didn't quite work out, access to the lake is either PRIVATE or for a fee 🫨.....nice tour, but more suitable for spring or autumn

The route itself is beautiful, but includes far too much walking along busy roads (on a Friday).
From km 0.5-5.8 a lot of traffic
From km 8.0-9.5 OK
From km 16.5-18.8 extreme
I wouldn't do it like that again.
The section on the east bank is very beautiful, I'll definitely do another nice route there, without the Waginger side. :-)

Unfortunately, the tour wasn't quite as exciting:
Hardly any lake views, several kilometers along the road on a footpath/cycle path with lots of cyclists, and not very scenic.
With temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius, it quickly became tiring.
We stopped for a break at the Gut Horn campsite "Zum alten Fährhaus."
