Les Mouflons Hut

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Very good refuge, more modern than that of the toubkal.
Somewhat chaotic both, because the amount of people that is concentrated is impressive.
We have spent 3 nights, you have to be careful with your belongings, because someone always appears.....

Tizi n'Toubkal (Toubkal Pass)

Highlight • Mountain Pass

The Tizi n'Toubkal, also called the South Col, is located almost 4,000 meters above sea level, less than 800 meters from the Toubkal summit. From here there is the possibility of deviating less than half a kilometer to the summit of Toubkal west, at 4018 meters high.

Summit of Mount Toubkal

Highlight • Summit

At 4,167 meters, the Toubkal summit is the highest in Morocco and North Africa. On clear days there is an incredible 360 degree panorama. Around you, several three thousand and four thousand; a little further you will see Berber villages, Marrakech and the coast. Only the luckiest get a glimpse of the Sahara desert.

Toubkal Refuge Louis Neltner (CAF)

Highlight • Mountain Hut

This refuge is the oldest of the two found at the foot of the northern slope of Toubkal. Its main benefactor was Louis Neltner, and it is currently managed by the French Alpine Club. Located at an altitude of 3,200 meters, it has space for 80 people and offers food service. It is necessary to book in advance, especially in times of high demand. Normally it is the guides who are in charge of organizing it, but here is the link to manage it on your own: refugedutoubkal.com/es.

Strenuous climb in fantastic weather :) Started at around 4:30 in the dark and with headlamps, it got light during the climb. Quite fresh throughout and windy from time to time. Thanks to ibuprofen, the altitude was OK ;) On the same day we went straight back down to Imlil

3:30 AM. After a real breakfast — yes, I’ve finally learned — we begin the final push: 1000 meters of ascent, with slopes between 10% and 40%. A huge challenge.

The night before, I told the group not to wait for me if I fell behind. They’d been incredibly supportive so far — they deserved to see the sunrise from …
Day 2 started super early. The alarms were set for 3am. We woke up, got dressed, brushed our teeth ad met up with our guide.
Packed our bags with only the essentials, warm and waterproof layers and left everything we didn't need in the storage.
We were told that breakfast will be after we come down.
Do we gathered some …

The third day was already the highlight of the trip: the ascent of the 4,167-meter-high Toubkal. The conditions were also rather suboptimal today: strong winds and snowfall ❄️but we were still rewarded with a fantastic view at the end 😊

This is the second part of the tour from Imlil to the summit of Mount Toubkal. We slept at the Toubkal refuge and started at 9 am. After reaching the summit, we went back down to the refuge and slept there one more night.
