In 1973, the train service was discontinued for economic reasons and in protest of the population. The passenger traffic was replaced by buses. In the following years, the tracks were dismantled to this section and established a bike path. Some of the old railway buildings along the route are now used as residential buildings.

The bridge leads over the route of the former railway line - Route A - it connects Grabau with the fish ponds and the Princes' Island. From the bridge you have good views of the old railway line.
A staircase leads down from the bridge to the railway line. You can push your bike down the side of the stairs past the tree to the BahnRadWeg - going up is more difficult, but it's also possible

Old Grabau Station

Highlight • Monument

Funny thing: You're walking, suddenly there's an old train station in front of you and there are no tracks and trains to see. Then you may be on a bike path - especially if the road is fairly straight.

St John's Church, Sülfeld

Highlight • Religious Site

Sülfeld is mentioned for the first time in 1207 - as Sullevelde.
The patronage of the church was exercised by the manor on Borstel, from 1588 together with his brother, owner of the Jersbek estate.
In 1667 the church tower was given the shape of its stepped gable.
In 1773 today's pastorate is established.
In 1968 the parish was significantly downsized. In the course of renovation work, the galleries in the church are removed.
In 1991, the side extensions to the church tower were removed as part of building renovation work.
In 2004 the pastorate, the neighboring coach house and the whole area were completely renovated.
2007 Sülfeld celebrates its 800th birthday.

Sülfeld has always been a church village. The church still drones in the center of the village and attracts visitors to the events. With the recently renovated churchyard, it has become a popular sunny wedding church for the region.
