Round trip for three around the Bergwitzsee with a trip to the peninsula. In addition to the dog and textile beach, the areas for the nudist beach seem to be very generous.
After lignite mining stopped in the 1950s, it was recultivated from the early 1960s. The Bergwitzsee was already a popular and well-visited destination in GDR times.

Very nice tour along one of the most beautiful renaturalized open-cast mining pits I have ever seen. Great healthy forest, lots of places to swim and not too crowded despite the great weather. The people we met enjoyed the day to the fullest - and so did we!!! And Mum was happy☺️

On the way home from the girls' weekend, we (@Hella Berrymaus and @Susan) took another stroll around Lake Bergwitz.

@HellaBerrymaus's eagle eyes also spotted the long-sought golden nettle for our student's herbarium.

Today was our first hike in the Düben Heath. A circular route around Lake Bergwitz. We started at P3, passed the mini golf course, and immediately saw the beautiful sandy beach. The wooden sculptures were also interesting. We continued to Hoffmannshöhe, with a great hut and a view of the lake. Behind the campsite, there was more beach and a …

If you're ever in the Düben Heath, you have to pack your hiking boots 🥾. Today, to round off our cultural visit to Wittenberg, we went for a walk around Lake Bergwitz. A beautiful, idyllic swimming lake that also appeals to anglers and water sports enthusiasts. Since we love adventure, we deliberately strayed from the trail. The small path that …

The Bergwitzsee between Wittenberg and Bitterfeld hardly shows any of its past. The former brown coal open-cast mine, which was flooded and renaturalized in the 1960s, has become a popular tourist destination with several sandy beaches and wooded banks on the edge of the Düben Heath. The circuit around the lake begins in the north near Bergwitz and around the …
