Parachute Tower in Kościuszko Park, Katowice

Highlight • Monument

Parachute tower in Katowice - 35-meter steel parachute tower in Katowice in the Park of Tadeusz Kościuszko.
Until the 1950s, it was used for the initial flight training and training of parachute jumpers.
It is also a legendary point of defense of Katowice, from where - according to a widespread message - in the first days of World War II the scouts of the Polish Scouting Association were to resist the Wehrmacht troops entering the city. The scale of the resistance and the course of events are controversial, and the identity of the defenders of the parachute tower has not been established.
Currently, the building is a monument dedicated to all defenders of Katowice, killed and murdered by the Germans in 1939. It is also the only preserved parachute tower in Poland.

A nature and landscape complex located in the southern part of the city of Katowice (the junction of the following districts: Brynów, Osiedle Paderewskiego-Muchowiec, Giszowiec and Piotrowice-Ochojec), in the Murckowski Forests, at the source of the Kłodnica River.
The clean water of the river in its upper reaches offers the possibility of existence for many rare species of plants and animals. The spring area is overgrown with a riparian forest with a well-preserved tree stand.

Tyskie PRINCE'S BREWERY 1629

Highlight • Monument

The brewery was established at the beginning of the 17th century in the manor area of the Promnice family from Pszczyna. It was first mentioned in 1613. Another story about the brewery comes from the town hall of the Pszczyna state from 1629, which, apart from the brewery, also mentions a malt house:
"This farm has extensive brewing rights, you can brew beer here every week, so it brings a great benefit. Moreover, the malt house, a brewery with a copper cauldron and all kinds of brewing vessels, can also be very well used for cattle and other needs."
In 1825, Pszczyna, previously the capital of the Free State of State, became a principality, and in 1861, Jan Henryk XI Hochberg, the prince of Pszczyna, took over the farm with a brewery from Promnice, and in the same year began to build a new and modern plant with a brewhouse and a cold store , a malt house, a mill, a drying room and an ice house.

it's great to ride along the side streets, near the airport and then next to the stud farm towards the forests in Giszowiec and there it's close to the Murckowskie forests, I recommend it!!!
