July 8, 2025,traditionelle 22. Radtour mit Kollegen ums Steinhuder Meer
This year, the traditional annual bike tour around Lake Steinhude with dear colleagues is back. This year marks the 22nd tour. It's great to see such a long-standing bond!

For almost two decades, the meanwhile traditional "bike tour around the Steinhuder Meer" has been taking place in the summer with colleagues. Many are now retired or working elsewhere, but this event is still part of the enjoyable annual "must-do" program. Many thanks once again to Michi for organizing and hosting - it was nice!

We started at the RV park in Steinhude, went around the Steinhuder Meer and then went to Wunstorf for dinner. The route is often gravel, so the tires should have some profile. If there are often pedestrians on the way, driving fast is not recommended either. Beautiful scenery, beautiful tour. Gladly again. KG Uwe

We don't know exactly whether this was the 20th or 21st annual tour, but as always, it was a great time together. Solidarity even after retirement - that's how it should be.
After a nice breakfast, we went to the "fish shack" and had coffee on the other side. And of course, we finished off with a barbecue. A wonderful …

(Already last Friday) A tour from Garbsen to Wunstorf, once around Lake Steinhude, and back to Garbsen. We cycled on a beautiful spring day.

Stopped at Lindemann's in Hagenburg for fish.
It was so nice that we could already sit outside. It would have been too crowded otherwise.

The Steinhuder Meer circular cycle path is around 32 km long and leads through the nature reserve. Dead moor and moorland meadows, forests, observation towers, footbridges and information boards offer a varied tour. You can see the island of Wilhelmstein and the bathing island, large flocks of birds and part of the old route of the narrow-gauge railway of the …

The starting point for this tour was at the Rewe parking lot in Wunstorf.

From there it went partly on bike paths or roads, right through Wunstorf.

Past many meadows that were occupied by many storks.

An interesting section was the adventure trail through the Dead Moor.

A must for every visitor, a small detour to the Moorsteg.

Started with a little delay because Vicki bitched a bit during assembly and then everything had to be rebuilt again for the second bike. 🙈

Standing in a traffic jam on the way - but everything was still in the green for Whitsun Saturday 😀
