Düendorf Manor

Highlight • Historical Site

History of the manor
The history of the estate has been very eventful over the centuries and has seen many changes of ownership.
In 1527 a gentleman from Mandelsloh finally bought the "Dugenthorp Desert" for 1000 Rhenish guilders from the Count of Wunstorf.
Since then, the estate has been in the von Mandelsloh family. The current manor house was built in 1850 as a half-timbered building after a fire on the old stone walls of a former moated castle.
Over time, farm buildings, grain barns and workers' houses were built here. Extensive stables for cattle, sheep and horses were housed in the farm building.
In addition to the management of the property, the respective owners held administrative offices in Hanover and later also in Berlin.
After the death of Adolf von Mandelslohs, his stepson took over
Gerd Tofahrn (dated December 29, 2017) managed the estate, who in turn passed it on to his son Arndt Tofahrn.
