The Amper Canal runs south of Zolling and north of the Amper and after 6.6 km feeds the hydroelectric power plant in Haag an der Amper. This system went into operation in 1923. It generates 4.1 MW of electricity that can power over 5000 homes. Since 1986, the canal water has also been used to cool the Anglberg power plant near Zolling.
In 1958 the power plant started with block 1 with 40 MW. Unit 5 has been running since 1986 with an output of 500 MW. The boiler house is 103 m high, the chimney is 220 m high and the cooling tower is 80 m high.
District heating has also been generated here since 1988.
From 1998, sewage sludge incineration was added as an energy source. Since 2003 also waste wood incineration.
