On good asphalt it goes over 4.5 kilometers with 110 m and a maximum of 7% up to the main road and the entrance gate to Costa Teguiese.

Costa Teguise town gate

Highlight • Monument

This is always my first intermediate goal after climbing the small "local mountain" of Costa Teguise. With a bit of luck, you can often see a couple of geckos sunbathing on the wall or the stairs in the "city gate".

This viewpoint offers beautiful views of La Graciosa. It must be said that the views can be enjoyed perfectly from the road, but if you prefer to have a drink this is undoubtedly a good place to rest.

For a short time I drove the other way uphill and the headwind was too much 😉
Was a nice tour with good impressions, especially little traffic in the serpentines in general, and after the highest point 15 km only downhill, the reward 👍

Took a racing bike from the very nice rental company "Arrietabikes" and explored the north of the island, between Órzola and Arrecife. Very good bike, good roads, drivers who kept their distance, great views, but also quite a bit of wind.

Most of the route is recommended, only Arrecife is impractical for cycling.

Awesome route 👌👍👍 Unfortunately, I had to cut the tour short. I had actually planned more❗️I was completely soaked and frozen. In the mountains, heavy rain came with a strong wind 😕 That made the descent no longer fun. Climbed up almost for nothing (up to 17% gradient). At least the view of the island of La Graciosa was magnificent …

After breakfast for 3 adults and 2 children, I set off on my first Lanzarote stage. I was impressed by the landscape from the start. But it got even better right from the start. Through the rainbow gate, I got a shower like in a car wash, followed by a climb. After drying off on the first serpentine descent, more …

Handy/Komoot stopped recording the tour just below Mirador del Rio. The tour is about 85km, 1300m altitude.

Finally I can keep up 🤪🤪🤪 that was fun. And I didn't care about the headwind. Once in my favorite city and drink coffee.

Day 8 on Lanzarote 🌋
Ah, what weather! 😍
The sun finally shone like it should on Lanzarote.
We sped along the beautiful coastal road (with its own, separate Via Ciclista!) with the wind to Orzola, with volcanoes and lava fields on the left and beaches and turquoise surf on the right.
From Orzola up steep, winding serpentines into the …

Had an uninvited guest for breakfast 🫣😳🦎! After strengthening, the five of us started. Clothes mess, cold 🥶 warm 🥵 cold, warm. From Orzolar it went uphill. A delicious cake as a reward. Arrived home happily with a good deal of headwind.
