August Ivan Nepomuk Eduard Šenoa (Zagreb, November 14, 1838 – Zagreb, December 13, 1881) was a Croatian journalist and writer. He is the most influential and prolific Croatian writer of the 19th century, and the true creator of modern Croatian literature.

Kameni Svatovi Summit Viewpoint

Kameni svati is a group of dolomite rocks perched on the western edge of Medvednica, just above the village of Jablanovac. According to folk legend, the rocks were formed when the groom's mother, dissatisfied with her future daughter-in-law, turned the wedding party to stone with a curse. This is also the subject of the song "Kameni svatovi" by August Šenoa, written in 1869. A mountain hut, Kameni svati (480 m), is located 5 minutes from the summit. It is open on Sundays, and refreshments and tea can be obtained from the duty mountaineer. The hut is managed by HPD Susedgrad. HPD Susedgrad rewards hikers who visit Kameni svati at least once in each season with a beautiful badge. The visit is proven by a stamp that is imprinted in the logbook of the Four Seasons circular trail on Kameni svati.

The shortest approach from the village of Jablanovac is relatively steep, and after rain and snowmelt, it is also very muddy. The approaches from Ponikava, where the so-called "Green Main Line" ends, are easier but slightly longer. An excursion to Kameni svati can easily be combined with a visit to the mountain hut on Glavica.
