Castrocaro Castle

For about a millennium the great manor, erected on the rocky spur that has made it a fascinating and original panoramic subject, has watched over the town below. Integrated with the landscape, the Fortress seems to complete the design and appearance of the cliff, with which it has become a single entity. The colors and the materials are linked to each other; the structural extensions that took place over the centuries of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance adapted the war requirements to the morphology of the land. The result is an unrepeatable union in which fortified architecture is inextricably linked to the surrounding environment.

Unique in its kind, in terms of type and size, the Fortress of Castrocaro is made up of three distinct architectural and defensive works: the Girone, the Rocca and the Medici Arsenals.
