Church of Saint Mary of the Assumption, Manerba del Garda

It succeeded the old Pieve as a parish church. The foundation stone was laid on January 20, 1746. It was consecrated to S.Maria Assunta by Bishop Morosini on the fourth Sunday of Easter 1781. It stands tall in a central location with a wide square opposite.
In the neo-classical style it is of great artistic value. The architectural complex is spacious and festive, the facade is imposing.
A valuable altar made of polychrome marble, large paintings and tall statues embellish the large inner nave. The valuable wooden statue of the Madonna and Child is kept in the wall of the apse. It is the object of centennial veneration by the community's believers. A large organ, made by Francesco Marchesini in 1845 and restored by his son in 1890, completes the harmonious overall picture.
