Kinzig Reservoir

Highlight • Lake

The Kinzig Valley between Gelnhausen and Schlüchtern is, apart from a few short sections, a natural cycle route. I always enjoy cycling it.

There is a good cycle path here. I personally prefer the southern cycle path along the reservoir.

Unfortunately it wasn't quite as warm as the weather service had predicted and many cyclists had cold fingers. But at least no rain!

According to the weather app, I was riding outside of the rain zone on the way there. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. On the way back, my clothes dried quickly in the strong headwind, only to get completely soaked again in a heavy rain shower 3 km from the finish. It was still fun!

It was only 28°C, but much too warm for me! The kiosk is open from 12 p.m. There are cakes: cherry crumble and crumble cake. The cherry was delicious!

Contrary to press reports to the contrary, the dam was not closed.
The lake bottom is being cleared by 2 excavators (see photo)!

Showing Translation

The weather was too tempting! Despite a strong headwind (up to 55 km/h) from the SW, it was fun! At times the sun even shone!

Depending on the weather, this was probably the last tour around the Kinzig reservoir in 2023. It served to maintain the small amount of basic fitness that was still left after the holidays.
Happy New Year to everyone watching the tour!

The first bike tour for this year has been done. The next one is already being planned! It was a little cold, but you'll feel warm when you kick around.

Today was my wife's first bike ride, she did great!😍🚴
