Hike starts in Aurland. Head up through houses out of the town away from the church. At the end of the road a gate reveals a path joining one heading upwards. Follow this. Nice and easy uphill hike. Great view over the fjords on top, but loaded with tourists (who arrive there by car or bus). Big waterfall on the way back.

It is a very beautiful, but also strenuous hike in parts. For a great resting place with a view, but without crowds, you only need to descend a few meters from the Stegastein and you can enjoy the vastness.

Exactly five weeks after my accident, our first hike was planned today. I still had to be very conscious of each step - so progress was slow, especially going downhill - but it was wonderful to finally be out in nature for a longer period of time again. 🙂
