Highlight • Lake

The lake is ideal for leisurely turns. For the fact that the lake is artificially created, it is very delightful.

Thielenburger Lake

Highlight • Lake

The Thielenburger See is an approx. 11 ha large quarry pond in my hometown Dannenberg. The lake is very central and close to the Dannenberg city center (can be reached from there in a few minutes on foot). A circular path (relatively hard sand path) for walkers and cyclists runs around Lake Thielenburger See. When the weather is good, the path is easy to walk and drive; when it rains, larger areas of the path are often flooded with water and some areas of the path are very muddy.
The Thielenburger See is very beautiful and always a great photo opportunity, especially during sunrise and sunset.
On the eastern side of the lake there is a children's playground and the Dannenberger Toboggan Hill, the latter arose from part of the excavation that was dredged there in the 80s (when the Thielenburg lake was created). There used to be two small bracks there, which were then extended to the Thielenburger See. The lake got its name from the Thielenburger Weg, which at that time ran between the two Bracks (the route then led from the city center to the Dannenberger campsite).
In the past, the lake was also very popular for ice skating in the winter months, but this was no longer possible in the warm winters of recent years.
