The remains of an Iron Age hillfort are visible on the summit; the inner rampart of which is said to date from around 400 BC. Designated as a National Nature Reserve and Special Area of Conservation, it is a lovely place to explore and affords magnificent views over the River Ouse and Firle Beacon.
