Stańczyki Observation Tower

Highlight • Viewpoint

The 34-meter high tower, due to its octagonal shape, has become one of the most characteristic tourist attractions of Stańczyk.
In Stańczyki and in Pobłębie, two 20-meter observation towers have been officially put into use. From the terrace situated at a height of 15 meters above the ground, there are views of the beautiful postglacial landscapes. From the tower in Stańczyki you can see the tombstone lakes of Tobellus, the gorge of the Błędzianki valley and the famous historic railway bridges. From the second tower you can see, among other things, Lake Pobłędzie and the panorama of the Romincka Forest. Parking lots and pavements were built next to the towers. Admission to both towers is free.

Pobłędzie Observation Tower

Highlight • Viewpoint

The observation tower in Pobłędzie is a great stop on a bike trip around the Romincka Forest. The wooden and steel structure with a platform at a height of 15 meters offers views of Lake Pobłędzie and a vast panorama of the forest. The tower is located on a gravel road and on the Green Velo route.

Here you will find a cyclist service area with a shelter and toilet.

This obelisk-shaped marker indicates the border between three countries. It is a triangular region between Russia (Kaliningrad enclave), Lithuania and Poland. Unlike the vast majority of Europe, the borders here are clearly protected with numerous barriers and barbed wire.

Hańcza Lake

Highlight • Lake

Lake Hańcza is the deepest lake in Poland, with a maximum depth of 108.5 meters. It is located in the Suwałki Region, surrounded by the picturesque hills and forests of the Suwałki Landscape Park. The lake boasts crystal-clear waters, attracting not only anglers and kayakers but also divers from across the country. Cyclists can enjoy attractive, undulating trails around the lake, offering beautiful views of the lake and numerous erratic boulders.

This is also the starting point of the "Poglacial Gully of Lake Hańcza" educational trail—a hiking trail approximately 10 km long that leads from Stara Hańcza, with its historic manor house and park, along the eastern shore of Lake Hańcza, and then through the Czarna Hańcza River valley to Turtul. The trail features shelters, campfire areas, and educational information boards.
