Rowsley Bridge

Grade II-listed medieval bridge, built in the 15th century and widened in the 1920s.

Where the River Derwent meets the River Wye, Rowsley is a great base for exploring the Peak District National Park. The wonderful grounds of Chatsworth House are nearby, while the gritstone edges of the Dark Peak and the limestone dales of the White Peak are within driving distance.

In the village, the Victorian Caudwell's Mill is worth a visit, thought to be the only working water-powered turbine roller flour mill left in the country. There are two popular pubs, both of which serve great food and offer accommodation.

View of White Peak Countryside from Lees Moor Wood

Highlight • Trail

When you come up from Calton Plantations towards Lee Moors Wood, you can get super nice views out over the surrounding White Peak countryside. You can’t get to the actual summit of Lee Moors itself as it is in private woodland, but there is a footpath that skirts the eastern edge between it and Manners Wood. This trail then splits into two paths to come out at Rowsley and Haddon Park.
