Fantastic views from up here over big skies and a rugged landscape. Well worth the effort on a sunny day.👌

The Hanging Stone

Highlight • Natural Monument

Notice the deliberate cleft at the top. There is another, but less impressive, such rock further along.

Winking Man Rock, Ramshaw Rocks

Highlight • Natural Monument

An easy walk to the top with breathtaking views.

Look between the rocks toward the A53 and you will see the profile of the Winking Man.

The Ramshaw Serpent

Highlight • Natural Monument

This is a very striking resemblance to a serpent.

The eye seems deliberately carved upon closer inspection.

It has a tainted history in modern times as Myra Hindley was seen sitting on this rock in one of her photographed poses (Ramshaw Rocks seemed a place they visited a few times).

It is said to align with the Bawd stone during the spring equinox.

It is worth checking out for its appearance if you are hiking here.

It can easily be seen as you ascend on the left of the path along the Ramshaw Ridge.
