Actually, there would have been no need for new highlights. The bridge has merely been renovated from the ground up and the road surface renewed.

Great "second-hand" biotope - located directly on the shore path through the Lahnauen!
Above all, numerous birds can be observed around the artificially created shallow water ponds 👌😀

August 16, 2024,Etappe 2b: Marburg nach Gießen – Lahnradweg
On the second day we drove about 100 km from Biedenkopf via Marburg and Gießen to Wetzlar. There we stayed overnight at the Wetzlarer Hof. The route is particularly beautiful on this stretch. Hardly any paths on busy roads and very varied.

The start turned out to be difficult. When the bike was inflated, the valve broke and we had to find a bike repair shop that could fix it quickly. We were lucky too and were able to start two hours late. The route along the Lahn was very nice. But I recommend everyone to look for accommodation IN TIME. We …

Another short tour today—through meadows full of apple trees... we only see the Lahn River when crossing it the umpteenth time, but in Marburg we're close to it again. Along the way, there are places for remembrance, for pausing, for being still, or for reflection.

Today only a short tour in the best weather. Tomorrow there should be a canoe tour from Gießen to Wetzlar, but the weather forecast for tomorrow doesn't look so great. But then there is also the Mathematikum. We will see☀️🍀😎

2 tours in a row, I'm not used to it anymore. Neither does my butt. Trail riding is much nicer. Above all, you don't sit there that much.
The only positive, I saw 🐫🐫🐫.

The closed season is over – now it's time to hike!

I'm now preparing for the KÖLNPFAD my.raceresult.com/299062/info:
171 kilometers around Cologne, starting on June 27th!

As in previous years, I'm dedicating my hikes to Markus Machens' private homeless aid organization "MARKUS and his friends on the street." With every step, I want to raise awareness and donations so that …

Used the beautiful sunny Sunday for a light, relaxed round. At the Niederweimarer See we watched the wakeboarders with a latte macciato and a piece of cake. A nice place for a break right on the bike path and the lake.
