Highlight • Religious Site

Small Parish Church is the first parish church of the community of Nieuw-Namur. Since 1860, this house of worship has received many souls in search of tranquility. In 1912 a new bell tower was built. Prosperhoeve

Highlight • Historical Site

The farm is part of a building complex built between 1850-1859 by Duke Prosper van Arenberg. The company building has had various functions, including a mill (infrastructure preserved in its entirety), which was used as an emergency church in the period 1904–1911. The historic site was protected in its entirety as a village view in 1982, the manor farm as a monument.
The restoration of the mill in the Prosperhoeve won the Wase Heritage Award 2020. The jury chose from this Beverse hidden gem that will be given a new life as an experience center about the history of the polder.

In the Prosperhoeve you can currently have a drink and visit the mill, the entrance price is EUR 2.50 per person.

This rustic neo-Gothic church from 1911 is located in the hamlet of Prosperpolder in East Flanders. It was designed by architect Jules Goethals on behalf of Duke Engelbert-Marie of Arenberg.
The quiet parking lot opposite the church is the starting point of a wonderful tour through the polder area, where the Doel nuclear power plant dominates the view at several points.
Tired but satisfied, you can enjoy a tasty snack and/or drink in the cozy neighborhood cafe 'Den Angeluus'.

View of Doel Nuclear Power Plant

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Doel nuclear power plant (KCD) is a Belgian nuclear power plant park with three nuclear power plants (Doel 1, 2 and 4) and one nuclear energy production unit that has been decommissioned (Doel 3). The nuclear power plant is located in the port of Antwerp, along the left bank of the Scheldt, near the village of Doel, a sub-municipality of Beveren in the province of East Flanders. The plant is owned by the energy company Engie Electrabel, which in turn is owned by the multinational Engie. EDF Luminus has a 10% share in the two youngest power stations. These companies also own the only other Belgian nuclear power plant park in Tihange.

With nine million inhabitants within a radius of 75 kilometers, the nuclear power plant is located in the most densely populated area in Europe. The Federal Public Service Home Affairs defines an emergency plan zone of 20 km around the power station, which includes more than 903,000 Belgian inhabitants in 35 municipalities.

It's always fun to cycle on this path. You can easily pick up speed here, but be aware that you'll have to share the path with other users. Enjoy the beautiful views together. This is possible if everyone maintains courtesy.
Enjoy together, each at their own pace.

A very nice bicycle path with lovely small house build against a dike. Some inhabitants actually have planted a lot of beautiful flowers along the way.
