Everything here is like a rainforest. Lush trees and plants, even the old water pipes are completely green.

A lot of water was needed for the alcohol factory, so a water pipe was built here in the valley. This is well over 100 years old

Inferno Aqueduct

Highlight • Monument

Very nice hike to the Inferno. Some of the old viaducts are well overgrown. Everything there looks like a rainforest.

After heavy rain, flooding occurs. But when it dries out and everything returns to normal, everything is clear again.

Grota Tunnel

Highlight • Structure

The special kick of the tour is the crossing of the tunnel, which is 72 m long but only approx. 150 cm high. If you stand in front of the tunnel entrance, you can see the other end of the straight tunnels and on bright sunny days it appears as if you could do without a flashlight. In the middle of the tunnel hardly any daylight comes in and even the flashlight is absorbed by the black rock. For taller people, like me, the head was directed more towards the ground instead of looking at the bright glow from the tunnel exit. The special thing about the tunnel is that it transfers you from the cow pastures with stone wall hedges and few trees over a relatively short distance into a gorge with a lush rainforest, where a visitor is surprised by a world of tree ferns, just like one down under in New Zealand has seen in pictures.
