Historic Town Hall Nieder-Flörsheim

Highlight • Historical Site

The town hall in Nieder-Flörsheim was first mentioned in written sources in 1705. At its core, however, it probably dates from the 16th century. The town hall is a so-called "chapel town hall". In the course of the Reformation, the church in Nieder-Flörsheim became Protestant, so that a prayer room was set up in the town hall for the Catholic part of the population, which was significantly fewer.
The baroque building has a side staircase. There is a Catholic chapel on the ground floor. The Crucifixion painting on the high altar dates from around 1750.

Trullo in Rhenish Hesse

Highlight • Monument

A special feature among the vineyard cottages that served as shelters for farmers and winegrowers throughout Rheinhessen are the trulli. They light up between the rows of vines like white sugar loaves. The name comes from the round houses found mainly in Apulia/Italy. In our region, they were built in the 18th century as shelters in the vineyards, although there is no historical evidence as to whether the round houses from Apulia served as a model or not.

The trullo is evidently cut free every season - the region is certainly aware of these peculiarities and takes care of them accordingly.
This example is equipped with a stable lookout tower, from whose platform you can enjoy a beautiful panorama.

Trullo Fräulein von Flersheim

Highlight • Structure

The correct name is: "Trullo Fräulein von Flersheim" after the daughter of the Beyer-Bähr winery, beyer-bähr.de (previous Komoot name: "Trullo with roses"). There has also recently been a table with two benches here. But it's not just the roses that are impressive, the silk or sleeping tree is also beautifully placed.

In Rheinhessen, Wingertshäuschen and trulli protected both the vineyard workers and the Wingertschütz from rain, thunderstorms and extreme heat. In Flörsheim-Dalsheim there are particularly many trulli, which are round in contrast to the square vineyard houses.

Today after my research, unfortunately there is no GPX file about it, I wanted to ride the Trullo bike path. So I can't say whether I've found them all. It is a special cycle route with all types of path.
There are asphalt, concrete, coarse large cobblestones just before the stain wall, small pavement, gravel, unpaved road and also grass. …

Dampfnudel-Bratwurst, Rhenish tapas or Spundekäs with pretzel and many other delicacies had the flyer for this year's Trullo bike tour around Monsheim promised – and the wine flowed, of course, in streams. Was that why the route was so perfectly signposted? You just had to follow the markings.
