Haldeboeuf Waterfall

Highlight • Waterfall

The Haldeboeuf waterfall is one of the most beautiful attractions in the Spa area. It is an enormous crevasse which runs from the top of the mountain to the Eau rouge which flows at the foot and receives water from the torrent. The abundant waters... dug the ground to a great depth, discovering rocks and erratic blocks, digging capricious channels into the stone, resembling those of the Ninglinspo.
In fact, this interesting waterfall is often dry.

Haut-Maret Hornbeam Avenue

Highlight (Segment) • Natural Monument

The hornbeam avenue was planted in 1885 by the owner of the Haut-Marais estate. He had the hornbeams planted between the hamlet of Vertbuisson and the Haut-Marais to offer the wealthiest visitors staying in the countryside a walk sheltered from the sun's rays. Although the avenue is now only 573 metres long, it was once twice as long.

Galerie Léopold II

Highlight • Monument

In the park of Sept-Heures, a covered gallery was inaugurated in 1878, a promenade created in 1758 on the meadow of the same name where the curists gathered, making the latter and that of the nearby Quatre-Heures the oldest public promenade in Belgium. The Leopold II gallery receives two pavilions at its ends, the oval of the Small Games and the square dedicated to Leopold II's wife, Queen Marie-Henriette. Three front bodies punctuate this long corridor covered with a compartmentalized wooden ceiling supported by cast iron columns and decorated with wrought iron decorative elements. The 2009 restoration project provides for the restoration of some original elements, such as the finish on the rear façade.

Note:
Currently, work is still being carried out here. The gallery is listed by the city of Spa in a city map brochure, rightly so in my opinion, as a special highlight that will delight visitors when it is completed.

Brasserie des Bobelines

Highlight • Restaurant

The former "Pavillon des Petits-Jeux" was once located on the Place Royale. From the 1930s to the 1950s, the pavilion was a kind of amusement park and was used in various ways until it became the seat of the spa office. The building, which was listed as a historical monument in 1982, was restored by the city and the Walloon Region at great expense, but stood empty from 2012. At that time, the city announced a project competition to bring the beautiful building back to life - and it was successful. Today, the historic building houses a microbrewery and the "Brasserie des Bobelines" restaurant.

Former Thermal Baths of Spa

Highlight • Historical Site

In 1992, the old building was placed under monument protection. In the hall, there are 2 fountains fed by the spring, whose iron-rich water quality justifies the spa as a health resort.

Pierrot Sculpture in Spa

Highlight • Monument

Built in 1923, the Pierrot remains the emblematic symbol of the city of Spa. 100 years later, it still appears on the bottles of the Spa-Monopole company. Following an idea by the mayor of Spa, Sophie Delettre, the historic flagship of the Spadel group had decided to donate to the city twelve statues of the "Pierrot" which were placed in several places in the center such as the Place du Monument, the Place Verte, the pedestrian area, the Tourist Office, the church and the Rue des Ecomines.
These statues, placed on pedestals, cannot be missed since each Pierrot is 1.80 m high and 1.50 m wide.
