The small village of Lauterbrunnen lies in the idyllic valley of the same name. From the bridge over the Weisse Lütschine river, you have a fantastic view towards Lauterbrunnen's landmark, the Staubbach Falls. It's the highest free-falling waterfall in Switzerland and impressive even from a distance. A short detour directly to the falls is worthwhile, as in summer you can view them from behind via a gallery – free of charge.

Lauterbrunnen itself is definitely worth a break. Whether just for a quick stop or a longer stay is entirely up to you.

Around the village, there are great bike trails, such as the challenging Grütsch Trail, which is accessible via the Mürrenbahn cable car and leads directly back to the village. If you'd like to rent a bike or have a technical problem with yours, several bike shops nearby can help. Bosch e-bike charging stations have been installed throughout the region, and there are two of them right in Lauterbrunnen. Fantastic tour in sunny weather. Beautiful views of the valleys, the north face of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Great panorama at the finish, the Kleine Scheidegg.

A round trip from Interlaken Ost Bahnhof. Simply up and down. Accomplished with my 1x11 gravel bike, a little steep on the uphill near Kleine Scheidegg but still rideable. Down the other side was fun. More gravel and some easy wide serpentines after Wengen. Schnucki on her touring ebike had no problems other than the serpentines which were walked down.
