Durbuy Castle

Highlight • Castle

Durbuy got its first fortified castle around 899. A century later it was destroyed and in the 11th century Henri the 1st of Namur, Count of Durbuy had the castle rebuilt. The d'Ursel family became the owner of the castle in 1756. This beautiful building is located along the Ourthe, near the old bridge of the city.

Lion's Head Rock

Highlight • Natural Monument

Rock formation with facial features. At the foot of the rock is a gravel beach. Even with low water level, you have to swim to the river crossing but short. At the foot of the rock are stairs where they lead me but I have not tried. Theoretically, one would have to come from the rock to the remote, former fort.

The cave of "Coléoptére" Juzaine (Bomal) van Guide to Marcourt and its surroundings
The cave of the "Coléoptère" in Juzaine - Bomal is classified among the most interesting caves in Belgium from the point of view of the discoveries made there by eminent archaeologists, namely in 1923-24. English, Polish, American and Belgian scientists and specialists have worked there.

"Coléoptère" comes from a pendant in the shape of a cockchafer that was discovered during the first excavations. This object was deposited at the Cinquantenaire Museum in Brussels.
