"Transylvania is in my blood," said England's King Charles in a 2018 interview when he was still Prince of Wales and thus heir to the British throne. He is an enthusiastic lover of Transylvania, where he owns two holiday homes in the Carpathian region and enjoys a pleasant contrast to Buckingham Palace. One of them is in Viscri: modest, tradition-conscious, painted sky blue. Charles' house is no different from the others in the village: large courtyard, old German living room with traditional furniture. Above Charles' bed, an embroidered wall cloth gives courage for Transylvanian nights: "Even in the dark of night, God's eye watches." Like all houses in Viscri, this one has been ecologically restored with traditional materials. This is ensured by the "Mihai Eminescu Trust" foundation, of which Charles was patron for a while and which is committed to preserving traditional village architecture. The ecologically minded Brit even inaugurated a bio-sewage treatment plant in Viscri.
