Visible from afar, the Veterans War Memorial Tower at the top of Mount Greylock was erected in 1934 in memory of all who served the U.S. during World War I. The tower measures 93 feet and was selected as one of the 100 Official World War I Centennial Memorials in 2018 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the war.

Mount Greylock itself towers 3,489 feet above Massachusetts and is also the highest elevation in the state. The iconic Appalachian Trail leads up to it.
