Görsdorf Church

Highlight • Religious Site

The late Gothic rectangular church made of field stones has a western half-timbered roof tower. Inside there are wall paintings from around 1430 on the north and south walls of the choir. The pewter baptismal bowl and a pair of candlesticks date from 1674.

In front of the west entrance there is a cast iron tomb for a certain W.L.H. Wahrenbrück, who died in 1819. Only a few grave crosses have survived in the small old churchyard, for example for the farmer Johann Friedrich Gang, who died in 1863.

Görsdorf Fire Brigade Museum

Highlight • Monument

In 2013 the idea arose to convert a small, dilapidated building into a small fire brigade museum with public access with the support of the city of Storkow.

With the help of monetary and material donations and many voluntary helpers, the reconstruction has progressed quickly and the topping-out ceremony has meanwhile been held. It will take a while until the final completion, but we want to thank all volunteers and donors for their commitment so far. Thanks to a generous donation, the property and the building could be purchased in 2016. The operator and owner is now the "Interest Group Fire Brigade Museum in Görsdorf e.V.", which was founded in 2015 as a non-profit association.

The museum was inaugurated on May 20th, 2017 with a grand opening ceremony.

Köllnitz Fishery

Highlight • Restaurant

Here you'll find a lovely restaurant, a farm shop, and exciting events are occasionally offered.

My recommendation is the freshly made sandwiches from the farm shop. They're quickly prepared in front of your eyes and are delicious. If the weather's nice, you can enjoy them outside on the picnic benches or head down to the lake, where there are also some seating areas.

You can find more information and opening hours here: koellnitz.de.

The GroßSchauen chain of lakes is rich in fish species, including eel, zander, pike and carp. In the Köllnitz fishery's own factory, various fish specialties are smoked daily over beech and alder shavings. For a quick lunch, a break from a bike ride or hike, the farm shop employees prepare fresh, delicious fish sandwiches. In the farm shop you can buy live or prepared fish.

There is a lot to see on the large fishing grounds, including two museums and a display pond. If you don't just want to enjoy the view of the lake from land, you can rent a rowing boat from the jetty and paddle out onto the water.

Getting there:
On foot or by bike 3.5 kilometers from Storkow train station

Farm shop opening hours:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m
Friday and Saturday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m

Small "wobbly" observation tower on the salt marshes. After climbing 40 steps you have a small panoramic view of Lake Wochow, which is hidden by vegetation in summer. In late summer it is a resting and gathering place for storks and cranes.

The Salt Trail near Storkow in the Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park leads to four stations dedicated to rare inland salt springs – places where saline water naturally surfaces. These special habitats provide an important refuge for rare plant and bird species, such as the lapwing and the common snipe, and are protected under European law (NATURA 2000). The salt springs were once used commercially; today, they are primarily important for nature conservation and research. The circular trail provides information about the region's geology, land use history, and biodiversity at the stations at the train station, Storkow Castle, Möllensdorf Meadows, and Bruchwiesen.
