Mountain biking

The St. Vitus Church is dedicated to the Nothelfer and martyr St. Veit (Catholic Vitus) and was built between 1000 and 1100 AD. The oldest components of the church tower suggest this at least. Moreover, since the church tower resembles that of Kastl, it is probable that the monastery in Kastl was instrumental in the construction of the church in Illschwang. In 1120 St. Vitus passed into the possession of the monastery Reichenbach am Regen. In 1700, Reichenbach decided to rebuild the church, which was severely affected by the Thirty Years' War.
