Hiking
The Hraunfossar ("lava falls") are very special waterfalls. Over a length of about a kilometer, countless waterfalls come out of a lava field and flow into the Hvítá River. A special kind of natural spectacle. There is a viewing platform and a circular path not far from the car park.

On the north bank of the Hvita, water flows over a distance of almost 1 km over a non-permeable layer under the Hallmundarhraun lava field into the river. The numerous waterfalls are called the Hraunfossar.
