Dungloe Lough, or Loch an Chlocháin Léith, is a picturesque lake to the east of Dungloe. It features on the Cope Mountain Walk, which can be combined with the Dungloe River Walk from the town to make a satisfying loop. The lake boasts five small islands and its waters are inhabited by brown trout, salmon and the endangered European eel.
