Meaford Harbour marks the western terminus of the Georgian Trail, sitting at the mouth of the Bighead River where it meets Georgian Bay. The harbour has been a working waterfront since the late 1800s, and today it’s a popular spot for boating and recreation, with a marina, public washrooms, picnic areas, parking, and a community pavilion near the trailhead. You can walk along the harbour for beautiful views across Georgian Bay, and from here it’s a short stroll into downtown Meaford, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.
