The Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation is a powerful place with a rich history, located in a former British military barracks dating back to 1806. For a cyclist, this is the ideal place to combine culture, history, and a much-needed break. Originally built as barracks to guard the Old Military Road, it now serves as an international centre for conflict resolution and reconciliation. The centre played a major role in the Northern Ireland peace process and, after World War II, housed German refugee children (Project Shamrock).
