Motala is the capital of the Gothenburg canals. Tourists enjoy the sea atmosphere, water sports and local restaurants, all of which are related to the weather. In Sweden, the Göta Canal is a holiday classic, an experience not to be missed.
The Götak Canal, one of the largest construction projects of Schedens, extends over 190 km from Sjötorp on Lake Vänern to Mem on the Baltic Sea with a total of 58 locks. The lakes, which flow through the channel, make 103 km of the route, the remaining 87 km are built.
