On the edge of Donegal Town stands this modern Catholic church, named after the four Franciscan scholars who compiled the Annals of the Four Masters in the 1600s. The most striking element is the narrow, tapering round tower: a deliberate reference to the medieval Irish monastic towers that once defined the landscape. The tower serves as a belfry and a subtle tribute to the Franciscan tradition, making the church a recognisable and historically charged anchor point in the cityscape.
