Several ex-border guards reported that this tube under the Kolonnenweg was supposed to have been an OGS (operational border lock). For me, the isolated location and the downhill exit speak for this. A path also led from here into Hessian territory.
At a distance of around 300 m there was a BT-9 observation tower, from which the depression with the Kolonnenweg access path could not be seen.
