Seven Hills Bushland Reserve is a surprisingly large pocket of forest tucked into Brisbane suburbia, with more than 50 hectares of eucalypt bushland, gullies, ridgelines, and creek corridors only a short drive from the CBD. The reserve was saved from residential development in the late 1970s and today protects habitat for birdlife, flying foxes, koalas, gliders, and native reptiles. Despite being surrounded by housing, the reserve still feels properly bushy in sections, especially around the shaded gullies and rainforest-lined creek areas.
