Hiking
Bützow already had an independent post and telegraph office in 1868 (in rented rooms on the market square). After the founding of the German Empire in 1871 and the unification of the postal system under Heinrich von Stephan, the new building was constructed.
Opening: October 1, 1887, as a Class I Post Office in the presence of Postmaster General Heinrich von Stephan. The Imperial Post leased the house built by the wooden shovel manufacturer Joachim Burmeister. At the same time, the telegraph service was launched.
