The Grand River is the largest river entirely within southern Ontario, flowing about 310 kilometres from Dundalk to Lake Erie. It’s fed by several tributaries, including the Nith, Conestogo, Speed, and Eramosa rivers. Recognized as a Canadian Heritage River in 1994, it holds great ecological and cultural significance, supporting diverse communities and ecosystems along its banks. This peaceful stretch of the river is framed by lush forest and grassy shores, with beautiful, up-close views of its calm water as it winds along the trail.
