History of the church
The oldest information on the state of the building, the Pastoral Visit of 1453, only deals with the choir. During the siege and battle of Morat in 1476, the church suffered fire damage; the following year, the Fribourg Council granted 8,500 flat tiles and 100 round tiles.
A list of donors from 1642 enumerates the church restorations that were planned or had just been completed. The Pastoral Visits of 1654 and 1663 denounce the lamentable state of the building. We do not know what action was taken subsequently.
