The needle weir consists of several vertical wooden or metal poles („needles“) inserted into guide rails. These can be individually removed or inserted depending on the water level. 🪵🔩 It regulates the water level of the Reuss, protects against floods, and ensures an even water distribution, for example for hydropower plants or the urban water supply. 🌊⚡
